Daniel Newsome is one of the world's premier swing Dj's. With a collection that starts with piano rolls of the early 1900s and spans blues, swing, jazz, soul and everything else up to the latest tracks from modern Trad Jazz bands, Daniel is a researcher, collector, historian, and also an avid digitizer of Vinyl.
Whether playing an exchange, a competition, a wedding, a late night dance or a house blues party, Dan puts over a decade of experience into picking just the right track that excites the room with the kind of energy that makes for memorable dancing.
Dan has DJed the famous "LindyGroove" nightclub, the most popular swing dance club in the world dozens of times. He has also djed for countless events like Frankie95, NJC/Camp Hollywood, Lindy On The Rocks, Camp Jitterbug, Seattle Lindy Exchange, and more. He spun tunes three nights a week at Denver's famous Mercury Cafe for over 10 years.
In the world of Blues, he's known as an innovator, able to move from early traditional blues to house party "turquoise" and everything in between seamlessly. He has djed major blues events, but also likes to play houe parties and smaller events.
He listens to, buys and organizes his collection on a daily basis and from day to day, growing his collection and bringing new and rare finds to the dance community. He is available for any event, but prefers that you support live music if you are able to.
