For educational purposes only From Cynthia Millman: "I believe he's referring to Tops and Wilda--Thomas "Tops" Lee and Wilda Crawford, two members of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers. ... Frankie speaks about them quite a bit in his autobiography. He says they were known for the "wrap-around," which they do just before the end of this clip. They were the winners of the Lindy division of the 1940 Harvest Moon Ball.They were originally one of the teams slated to be in "Hellzapoppin'," but got dropped for missing rehearsal." |
