Tap! Dan and Alex present a day of Music, Rhythm and Footwork fun in this special SSC intensive with 4 hours of professional instruction and one half hour of improv tap work.

Class descriptions:
Alex Yan presents "Tap Rudiments" This class will take you through shuffles, flaps, slaps, heel drops, toe drops, stamps, tips and stomps. You'll learn the language tap is built on and use that to begin your journe through choreography, improv, and complex combinations.
Dan Newsome Presents Stan Kahn's Method. So you've just learned a bit of tap.. now its time to start putting it to the test and building some 8 count patterns, from simple to subtle. Dan will teach you Stan Kahns step-by-step method to developing rhythm.. Thousands have learned using this method, and you'll find that its time tested, straightforward, and complete in its ability to get you tapping quickly.
Time Steps and Cramp rolls with Alex Alex will teach you how to do some of the classic patterns that you'll need to know to enter any advanced beginner or intermediate class. These patterns will challenge your feet, but you'll start making recognizable rhythms.
- Revenge of the Shim Sham with Dan
- Dan will teach you a choreography from late tap legend Leonard Reed.This four chorus routine will follow the same pattern as the Lindy shim sham, but will contain tap rhythms.
- 30 minute improv jam with Dan and Alex
- Dan and Alex will teach you the basics of how to improvise tap, and a few exercises to get you thinking in an unplanned, but nonetheless musical manner. You don't need any special skill for this last class, just music in your soul
